Carron’s Top Nine List

Carron Pedonti, VP/Executive Producer, lists some of the companies and directors that she’s been keeping an eye on. And not in a stalker kind of way.
First, I’ve got to mention some of the folks I have recently worked with.Henry Alex Rubin (Smuggler)
We worked with him on the last truth® campaign. Collaborative, really knows how to work with hidden cameras, excellent director for guerilla style. Documentarian/Director of Oscar®-nominated Murderball. All-around good guy. Sam Cadman (Station Films)
Sam has worked with Arnold a few times in the past, I recently just shot a couple of spots with him for Tyson. Great Director...excellent with the client, kids and agency.
Here are some directors and companies I admire from afar. Which is to say, I haven’t worked with them yet. Michael Gracey/Pete Commins (Partizan)
They directed the skating babies spot for Evian. Which recently set the World Record for the most viewed online advertisement in history. (Granted, “history” is only a few years in this case, but still…) 45 million online views worldwide, and counting. Having worked on live action and animation for past truth spots, I can truly appreciate how hard this must have been. It was a great concept that was directed perfectly.
Mr. Hide (Sweetshop)
He did the Toyota Prius spot where humans make up the scenery. Really cool spot first of all. Again, the creative idea was well executed. The attention to detail with all of the people creating this garden was so unique. Wish I produced it.
The Malloy's (HSI Productions)
Recently did a documentary for the band Oasis: Dig Out Your Souls in the Streets. Really gritty and undergroundish, nice storytelling. They have shot a ton of music videos and some spots, excited to see new stuff they turn out this year.
Jim Jenkins (O positive Films):
An oldie but a goodie. Not that he’s that old, but he’s been good for a while now. Consistently produces great comedic work, really like the spot Wedding by Sprint and how he marries it to my world of production.
Brian and Melanie (Washington Square Films)
They are new to commercials, but their pedigree is in documentary filmmaking. They have a really nice raw feeling to their work that reflects that. I’d love to see what they do with more spots.
B- Reel
This company built our last version of thetruth.com. They do some really cutting edge stuff. Also check out the new Doritos site they did.
Brand New School
They’re a production house specializing in VFX and animation. They just did a killer campaign for Jack Daniels that is all in black and white. I have worked with them in the past, really solid company.
